Senior Process Engineer (Chemical)

The Senior Process Engineer will support process design and take a leading role in developing the understanding of the LEILAC process chemistry and volatile species' development, through experimental investigation, modelling, and data analysis, working closely with the Calix engineering and R&D teams, as well as external engineering and industrial partners.

Utilising cement process understanding and experience, the Senior Process Engineer will work collaboratively with the process modelling team to develop integrated process models. This work will support process optimization and development, along with the permitting process.

The Senior Process Engineer is a critical role, supporting the engineering team to develop process flows and energy and mass balances for the technology, and accountable for the successful delivery of the integrated models, from early conceptual design through to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operations.

Desired Qualifications and skills: 

  • Degree in Engineering, in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Chemical, R&D or Process Engineer in the cement or lime industry
  • Deep knowledge of the cement process
  • Process modelling / assessment of plant upgrade works
  • Process optimisation and trouble shooting
  • Experience in working collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to work confidently on their own initiative as well as a part of a team
  • Self-driven and a strong work ethic
