Calix is a team of dedicated people developing a patented technology to provide industrial solutions that address global sustainability challenges. 

The core technology is being used to develop environmentally friendly solutions for advanced batteries, crop protection, aquaculture, wastewater, and carbon reduction. New materials produced by Calix are proving to have similar properties to highly active nano-materials, without the safety concerns and high cost, but with all the benefits. Calix is currently working with a number of universities, research institutes, governments and industry partners across R&D projects globally.

Project Planner

The Project Planner will work closely with the engineering and project delivery teams, providing project planning support, developing engineering, procurement, and construction schedules, using Microsoft Project. This also includes forecasting project cost and expenditure within Microsoft Project, both personnel, capital and operational costs, and monitoring spend and resource utilisation against planned.
You will support the development of project controls procedures and tools, working collaboratively with the team and delivering work to the highest standard. The role reports to Engineering Lead of the region and can be based in the UK or France.   


Key tasks & Responsibilities:

• Continuously work with Safety, Quality and Environment, by acting as leader of Calix’s SHE, Sustainability and Governance culture.
• Undertake project planning, monitoring and reporting
• Using Microsoft Project to schedule project activities, expenditure, and resourcing, from early concept design, through design development phases, procurement, construction / commissioning, and operations.
• Assess and communicate project status, track project KPI’s and support internal and external reporting. 
• Support the development of project controls, procedures, and tools.

Desired Qualifications and Characteristics

The right candidate has a degree in project management, construction or engineering with +3 years’ experience in a project planning role. This person has worked in an environment that requires the ability to deliver against multiple projects. They have experience from scheduling both programmes of work and construction projects. They are able to work confidently on their own initiative as well as a part of a team, and has a strong work ethic. 


Other qualifications & characteristics: 

• Experience with resource planning and forecasting
• Has worked collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge of tracking project KPI's and how to produce summary status reports for clients and internal stakeholders
• Advanced Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Project user 
• Strong communication skills
• Adaptable and works well under pressure
