Fentimans are a privately owned premium drinks business based in Hexham, Northumberland. They produce a range of botanically brewed soft drinks and mixers that have a reputation for taste and quality and have enjoyed significant growth in recent years, building a solid position as one of the top brands in the UK premium soft drinks market. In addition to the UK, they have a rapidly growing international business, serving consumers in 75 countries worldwide.

As they continue to grow they are expanding the category management team to better meet the needs of their customers. The team sits within the wider sales function but has close links to marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure their growth is focussed in the right areas.

The Role

Reporting into the Senior Category Manager the Business Analyst will be responsible for evaluating internal and external sales data to provide a clear understanding of Fentimans' performance. The role will provide clarity in understanding sales performance vs key budget and forecast targets, allowing the sales team and wider business to understand where it needs to focus. 

  • Analysing key data sources to provide visibility and insight into business performance
  • Develop weekly and monthly performance reports tracking sales and demand KPI’s by channel, product sector, and customer
  • Play a key role in the monthly business review meeting – providing insight around both historic performance and the forward sales forecast
  • Monitor and report on sales driving investment to our customers
  • Tracking Fentimans distribution progression in market on a monthly basis
  • Analysing ‘in-market’ sales and category data to develop insight around Fentimans and competitor performance in trade
  • Creating tools and analysis to support the development of the annual sales budget
  • Undertaking analysis on specific business performance issues to inform decision making
  • Management of category databases, ensuring data is accurate and up to date
  • Managing the Salesforce CRM data system

The Person

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role, graduates with a relevant discipline may also be considered
  • Previous experience of FMCG would be beneficial
  • This is a highly numerate and analytic role therefore person should enjoy dealing with and interpreting large amounts of data and have strong excel & powerpoint skills
  • Ability to simplify complex datasets into simple insights
  • Confident in presenting business insights to a wider group 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Based 4 days per week in Hexham office, 1 day from home
