This role specifically sits in Carr’s Agriculture. Carr’s Agriculture is a supplier of agricultural products to both trade & retail customers, comprising two businesses. Caltech, based in Silloth in Cumbria is the manufacturer and supplier of Crystalyx® and Horslyx® products – a unique range of cooked molasses-based high energy feed licks for all types of cattle, sheep, goats, deer and horses. Scotmin Nutrition, based in Ayr on the west coast of Scotland, provides a range of farm specific nutritional solutions to livestock farmers.
Reporting into the Managing Director, you will be a key component of the Leadership Team and a Strategic Business Partner. You will provide commercial guidance and steer, supporting high growth across an international landscape.
You will develop strong financial control and governance, whilst at the same time adding commerciality to decision-making. You will ensure that the business has the right financial infrastructure in place to sustain and support a high growth environment.
Working closely with the Leadership Team and colleagues across the business, you will understand the priorities, strategies, operations as well as opportunities to drive performance. The role requires a visible business leader that can get amongst the business, supporting and guiding staff, developing relationships across the organisation.
Whilst this role has hybrid working, giving flexibility to location. There is a need for regular travel across multiple sites to build relationships and understanding of the business, managing risk and helping drive collaboration and performance.
This is a strategically important hire, therefore the appointed person is expected to add value quickly upon arrival.
Suitable candidates are likely to have operated at this level previously, within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrable commercial experience applied in a high growth environment will be highly advantageous, particularly on an international level with manufacturing complexity. Prior experience of establishing strong financial control and governance is taken as a given.
