Head of Production Operations (Supply Chain)

  • Reference: 388753
  • Job type: Permanent
  • Salary: Start-up package

  • Location: London

A Revolution in Convenience and Sustainability

  • Planera is home to a high-pace start-up team, who have rallied together to free our planet from permanent waste.
  • As our Head of Production Operation your initial responsibilities will be to formalise relationships with suppliers and partners, and execute the production scale-up to launch Planera in the UK.
  • You will play a crucial role in establishing the team culture and implementing Planeraʼs strategy for growth as we digitally transform the antiquated offline hygiene industry.
  • You will be overseeing rapid iterative prototyping with direct implementation, tackle creative problem-solving by working with constraints and have autonomy and flexibility for continuous learning of new processes and materials from related fields.

Our Culture
  • Make Good: This is our defining behaviour. To create a better future we have to make good on our promise to create sustainable essentials that do not compromise on performance or convenience.
  • Getting rid of verticals: the R&D team will be involved with marketing and vice versa. Cross discipline is a key strength of start-ups that we would want to cultivate and keep as the team and company grows.
  • Stand Up & Speak Up: Open channels that reward those that get problems out in the open. Being critical about the status quo elicits lateral thinking.
  • Compete with yourself: We believe in continuously learning and improving our products and services - always pushing ourselves to make better.

Who youʼll be working with

  • Aaron (COO) has been heading product development and working closely with our suppliers and machine manufacturers for the development of Planeraʼs sanitary pads. His background is in Biomedical and Design Engineering and has an obsession with behaviour enabling design.
  • Olivia (CEO) is a medical doctor prior to co-founding Planera, and her medical background has been a valuable insight into the daily struggles and the health impacts of poor sanitary education and products. She believes that it is the responsibility of companies who produce the products to make it easy, sustainable and convenient for customers to dispose of products without creating permanent waste.
  • Sebastian has been our Engineering Lead since October 2020 and is rapidly scaling our production and product ready for launch. As the lead for most technical aspects and research projects he believes that working with Planera can drive positive change in the world.
  • Fran (Head of Marketing) is building Planeraʼs brand and community. Having been the Head of Brand Marketing for The Body Shop, Fran is experienced in building an ethical mission-driven brand to change the industry standards. She has built a strong brand and community, where 1500+ people tested and helped us develop our first flushable pad.
