The Opportunity

Britishvolt is looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Director to join their Operations Management Team reporting directly into the Chief Operating Officer.  You will be responsible for the effectively delivery of a large scale capital equipment procurement strategy and plan to support the build of a Gigaplant in Northumberland and British Volt’s overall strategic plan.  This will include global sourcing manufacturing equipment, supplier engagement and contract management across British Volt’s UK operations. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining & implementing the capital procurement strategy.
  • Overall accountability for the global sourcing for all manufacturing equipment for the Gigaplant.
  • Leading major supplier negotiations and ensuring effective supplier performance management
  • Ensuring the development and effective delivery of best in class category management and procurement operations capabilities. 
  • Developing Britishvolt’s equipment procurement processes and policies. 

About You

As a highly experienced Procurement Director (ideally MCIPS qualified), you will have extensive experience in sourcing manufacturing equipment for large scale projects whether than be to support a new plant builds or extensions.  Experience gained in battery manufacture or automotive isn’t essential, but a deep understanding of world class procurement strategies in consumer products, food processing, pharmaceutical, steel, chemical or similar to shape the capital procurement strategy and processes is essential.  With the passion, drive, creativity to continually raise standards and expectations you will demonstrate experience in working in a fast paced and dynamic business.
