The organisation

Nigel Wright are delighted to working alongside Shared Interest, an ethical investment organisation which aims to alleviate poverty by helping people in remote and disadvantaged communities to trade and earn a living.  

The organisation acts co-operatively with over 11,500 investors, pooling their £50 million of investment to provide loans and credit facilities to primarily fair-trade businesses. Last year, Shared Interest’s members helped make a positive impact on the lives almost 400,000 individuals.

We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join their growing team in Newcastle. 

The role

  • Manage a portfolio of existing customers, noting key lending and financial risks.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally through email and telephone.
  • Analyse potential new co-operatives and report on possible risks. 
  • Chase outstanding payments from customers.
  • Work alongside the Business Development Manager to source new potential business.  

The person


  • Experience of working in a customer-facing role. 
  • Able to process and understand credit checks and interpret financial reports. 
  • Strong report writing skills with good written English. 
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Detail orientated, self-motivated and organised individual able to multi-task. 

Education and Qualifications
  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent (ideally in business, sales, finance, or marketing) or equivalent work experience.

This role includes a mixture of working from the office and working from home.
