The Client


Our client is a leading multi brand UK manufacturing business with headquarters in the North of England. They are currently looking to appoint a Group Commercial Director to their board to lead on the business growth plan. 

Responsibilities include strategic marketing planning, establishing, and delivering sales targets to meet corporate objectives, partnering with senior management team to ensure the best possible service and effective communications to company and customers. Development of business unit value proposition and delivery of category led sales approach to achieve commercial growth.  

The Role

 

  • Identify Customer challenges & growth potential in each product and channel area
  • Creation of true value proposition for each business unit
  • Identify current market trends and develop robust commercial plan for the next 3-5 years
  • Deliver a category led approach to the sales function
  • Lead, coach, development and recruitment of sales team to fit new sales objectives
  • Define the strategic marketing plan and develop annual sales & marketing plans in support of organisational strategy and objectives.
  • Direct implementation and execution of commercial policies and practices.
  • Ensure communications are coordinated, support sales plan objectives and meet organisational expenditure requirements.
  • Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses
  • Implements approved distribution strategies
  • Manages multiple channel selling strategies
  •  Forecasting for Product requirements.


 

The Person

 

  • Experience in transformation of an established sales function, leading and managing through major transformation, re-training & recruiting to build a truly “sales driven” team who will deliver significant new business growth
  • Breadth of experience including marketing, category, or product management
  • P&L responsibility of multi brand multi channel business 
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent 
  • Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others 
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-5 year time span
  • Management: the ability to organise and manage multiple priorities
  • Sales and service systems development and deployment
  • Strong customer orientation
