The Opportunity:

Nigel Wright Recruitment has been appointed on a retained basis to support Husqvarna with the recruitment of an Area Sales Manager for its Construction division.  The role will be home based and will cover the South West and South Wales.  The following postcodes will be included in the patch:

BS, BA, DT, TA, EX, PL, TQ, TR, BH, SP, SN, GL, WR, HR, NP, CF, LD, SA.

The Role:

  • Manage and develop the existing Distribution customer base and the Contractor Direct Construction end-user customer account base, to produce additional growth in line with the Husqvarna Construction sales strategy.
  • Identify new sales opportunities with new prospective customers to generate new profitable revenue streams.
  • Work closely with the internal customer services team, to ensure effective support to sales activities.
  • Fully understand and implement the Husqvarna Construction Sales Strategy, including brand and market pricing.
  • Develop strong relationships with the existing customer base to maximise revenue generation.
  • Circa 90% of time will be spent customer facing, visiting existing customers and prospecting for new opportunities.
  • Ensure the CRM system is consistently and accurately updated, both for existing customers and prospective customers.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, sales pipeline and forecasts upline to senior management in a timely and accurate manner.

Person Specification:

  • A successful track record of managing a regional sales territory.
  • Experience of construction product sales through distributors is essential. 
  • Additional experience of selling directly into end user contractors within the construction sector would be beneficial.
  • You will be located within the South West and South Wales geographical coverage area for the role.
  • Equally comfortable managing existing accounts and sales with repeat customers and mapping out, targeting and generating revenue through new business customers.
