My client have grown steadily over the last 10 years, now employing around 150 staff, providing a range of services to business across the country. In recent years they have redeveloped their core platform which supports data led decision making, using historic information in addition to data science to predict future requirements. They have recruited a number of developers over the last 6 months who'll work on the new features/functions but additional resource who will focus on requirement gathering and translation for the technical team.
Your role will be to ensure new features, functionality and products are developed in an effective and coordinated manner. You will be the principal link between the technology team and the platform and content teams and wider business to inform and develop the technology specifications and manage the platform development function. Liaising closely with both the business and the technical teams you will be the principal ‘translator’ of requirements between platform content and product team and the platform technology team and able to break down the requirements into work packages
Candidates will need to have an awareness of the software development lifecycle and ideally spent much of their career working on software projects. Although not hands on you will be working closely with the development team and a detailed understanding of their work will allow you to gather sufficiently detailed requirements from the business.
A background in business analysis would be of interest, comfortable talking to users from across the business, translating their needs into technical documentation and also demonstrating an understanding of wider business plans, ensuring development work fits with company strategy etc
This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of the key platform for this client. Salary will be up to £45, 000 and the role comes with an excellent benefits package. Whilst there is some flexibility around working from home the client is looking to have their teams office-based for 2 days per week.
