Business Development Manager - CNC Engineering

The Opportunity:

Nigel Wright has been retained by a key client to support the recruitment of a Business Development Manager for its CNC contract manufacturing division.  The position is newly created to support continued divisional and group growth plan and can be home based anywhere within England, with the requirement for periodic trips to the Company HQ in the North of England.

Role Profile:

  • Mapping out and targeting new business within key target sectors such as medical, aerospace, oil & gas and FMCG manufacturing (non-exhaustive).
  • Creating opportunities for the Company to provide its contract manufacturing, supply chain management and added value engineering services.
  • Working closely with technical and engineering staff internally and utilising them appropriately to support with the sales processes, including joint meetings with prospective customers.
  • Holding accountability for the annual new business sales target.
  • Reporting to the Divisional Commercial Manager, providing sales reports, sales pipeline updates and accurate forecasts on periodic basis.
  • Driving the sales and new business agenda for the division and operating in a commercially proactive manner on an ongoing basis.
  • Utilising the marketing function and other sales support staff and internal stakeholders to support with the growth plan of for the CNC division.

Person Specification:

  • A track record of selling engineered solutions to the B2B industrial sector.
  • Preferably experience of £1m+ per annum in personal revenue generation.
  • Good IT literacy.
  • Experience of generating new self-generated business from new customers in new markets.
  • An understanding of CNC applications and supply chains.
