Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the transformation and modernisation of HSE across the Group. You will provide strong leadership and develop effective risk management strategies and programmes to deliver improved HSE performance and reduce the Group’s exposure to HSE risks.
You will review all existing HSE systems & polices to create a standardised annual HSE strategy for the Group and its subsidiaries to promote a positive and engaged HSE Culture at all levels within the business. You will create a Group HSE framework to roll out across throughout the business.
Working closely with the Business Unit Senior Managers, you will understand their business priorities, strategies and opportunities to provide effective advice & guidance on risk management. As a passionate leader you will looks to develop effective working relationships throughout the Group. You will give confidence to Board, collaborate, and challenge Senior Managers whilst being visible and available on sites to continue to champion and raise the profile of HSE for it to become truly owned by the business. People are crucial to the success of the Group, there is an absolute desire to engage and inspire people to create a continuous improvement culture in HSE.
This role could be based anywhere in the UK as you will need to travel across sites to build relationships and understand the risks, but you will need to be available at Head Office one day a week.
As an experienced HSE Director, you will have previous experience in the development and delivery of an effective HSE strategy, plan, systems, and processes to create a positive and embedded behavioural safety model for everyone to feel truly engaged. Ideally you will have previous experience gained in a large complex engineering or manufacturing business with multiple sites.
With well developed communication skills you will have the resilience to deliver change and transformation along with energy, enthusiasm and drive to truly champion HSE to raise the profile of HSE throughout the Group. An ability to operate strategically and tactically, but also working closely at all levels to truly understand the complexity and breadth of the Group.
