The company

Nigel Wright is recruiting for a Product Manager to join a global interior products manufacturer; the company are £bn t/o and have operated in profit across the group within the last 12 months. 

There is now an opportunity for a product manager to join an existing large team in product management, a role that has been created out of growth and category realignment. Applications are welcomed from product managers who can demonstrate they're able to conceptualise the creative look and feel alongside logical product functionality.

This role can be home-based approx. 90% of the week with a head office located in the North East or Leeds.

The role

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining the range including unique selling proposition, together with marketing and key markets
  • Track and follow consumer trends
  • Build the generation plan based on consumer insights and strategy for the category
  • Drive product management flow and ensuring a full product and development pipeline
  • Responsible for range definition and price positioning
  • Responsible for product life cycle together with marketing and key markets      
  • Responsible for product allocation to markets and approve any changes to generation plan/model catalogue
  • Support cross product business area activities

Person specification

  • Either; a commercially astute graduate with some vocational (a placement year) in a product management role, OR, an experienced product manager with demonstratable experience working with an aesthetically designed and manufactured product that is also functional 
  • Strong commercial awareness to formulate product feasibility and costings
  • European exposure in a previous role is highly desirable
  • Comfortable leading the agenda within your/a category and owning the ideation to the delivery phase
  • Strong negotiator, able to establish positive working relationships, retain buy-in, challenge the status quo where appropriate
