Gentoo’s key purpose is to provide social housing for people in Sunderland and have around 29,500 properties and 60,000 tenants who rely on their services. Technology is a critical enabler in delivering this service and is essential to ensure they achieve their five-year Corporate Strategy.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team within Gentoo, the IT Director will lead the Transformation & Technology (T&T) team of 33 colleagues to deliver this critical work for the Group. The T&T team at Gentoo are talented and dedicated and have been instrumental in transforming the technology service over the past few years. They are now looking for an exceptional IT Director to lead this team and help them deliver on their Corporate Strategy which puts the tenants at the heart of everything they do.
Candidates must be experienced technology leaders who are customer focused and comfortable working alongside the senior leadership team and wider management team. You will be confident in influencing and appropriately challenging, the Executive Team and wider Group Board.
You will have a track record of successfully aligning digital strategy to underpin wider strategic aims of an organisation and possess the ability to show strong understanding of working within a regulated environment and the importance of effective control and management of data.
With experience in formulating and managing budgets effectively and within strategic objectives, you will have a true “best of breed” approach to technology solutions.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have a real understanding of developing and building a cohesive multi-disciplined technology team with a culture of continuous improvement, service excellence and a customer centric approach.
Overall you will be a great communicator and be able to engage with all stakeholders throughout the Gentoo organisation.
