Gentoo is a housing association based in Sunderland. Managing around 29,000 properties and employing over 1,100 staff, it is one of the largest landlords in the North East and employers in Sunderland.

Role Overview

Gentoo is seeking a new board member with current or recent knowledge of the social and regulated housing sector, gained a senior level.  

They are particularly keen to speak to individuals whose current experience and professional expertise is within this area and who have the ability to operate at strategic level. 

Candidates will have strong strategic planning skills and the ability to challenge appropriately and hold themselves and others accountable.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for decisions made.  They must also have strong negotiating skills and the ability to work with others effectively.

The successful candidates will be strategic thinkers, with the ability to assimilate and analyse complex information and provide independent and constructive challenge.
