The company has undergone significant internal change over the last two years with the new PE partner backing management’s business plan of acquiring underperforming units, refurbishing as necessary and extending where viable, such that the group will expand significantly in the next two to three years.

 

The opportunity;

There is now a need for a strong Head of People & Development with vision, and great awareness to join what is an exceptionally strong board team in achieving company objectives.

Reporting directly into the CEO of ICG, the Head of People will work closely with the leadership team and the Operations Managers.  Key elements of the role include;

  • Contribute to the overarching commercial strategy of the organisation, developing the people strategy which supports future growth
  • Develop high quality learning & development initiatives that are designed to suit individual needs of colleagues across all levels
  • Drive talent and succession plans, providing great career development opportunities for high performing colleagues
  • Support new acquisitions with TUPE process and subsequent engagement and training activities
  • Develop HR policies and processes in line with the organisations culture and values
  • Support managers with more complex ER issues
  • Work with external parties including the Company’s Solicitors where necessary
  • Transforming the current people and development offering from good to great
  • Develop a great recruitment process to attract the best talent and ensure excellent candidate experience

This is a stand alone role and will be based in Alnwick with travel across the North.
 

The person;

Candidates will come from a fast paced, customer focused background where people development is central to the success of the organisation. 

Candidates must have;

  • Strong knowledge and experience of employment law
  • Knowledge and experience of creating successful and innovative people development tools
  • Candidates are likely to come from multi site organisations such as retail, hospitality or professional services where performance is driven through people
  • CIPD qualification and TUPE experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • This is a stand alone role and won’t have any full time administration support initially
  • Candidates must be prepared to deal with the hands on elements of the role, as well as lead on business strategy

Candidates will need to be based in Alnwick and will need to travel throughout the region to suit the needs of the business.  Overnight stays will be required
