Nigel Wright are delighted to be partnering exclusively with the Moores Furniture Group to support their search for a new Head of IT. With over 70 years’ experience in making furniture, they are one of the largest privately owned manufacturers in the UK with a reputation for quality craftsmanship. The business has performed well in recent years and continues to set it's sights on further substantial growth. 

We are looking for an excellent IT business partner who puts customer focus, both internal and external, at the heart of the IT function. Your initial focus will be to review and develop the IT strategy to support their planned growth, along with supporting all areas of the business to develop and deliver customer focused improvements.

You will provide vision and leadership in all aspects of IT and its successful and consistent adoption and usage within the business through development and delivery of the IT strategy. On an ongoing basis you will review of business objectives / processes including definition of a technology roadmap to deliver ongoing evolution of technology benefits for the business, its
customers and supply chain partners.

It will be expected you have experience selling ‘technology first’ within the business whilst ensuring that IT resources and systems are in place to meet business objectives, opportunities and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Budget planning and management, agreeing annual capex spend, opex spend and ensuring cost/benefit analysis is undertaken before spend.
• Relationship management with 3rd party providers and key stakeholders ensuring regular communication and awareness of requirements.
• Project and process management for new solutions and change activity, prioritizing with the leadership team and ensuring timescales are agreed, transparent, measured and delivered.
• Engage in business process improvement activity to identify technology based solutions to business problems.
• Manage the IT team ensuring resource, objectives and skills are in place to deliver the IT strategy and develop the team.
• Act as the Company Data Protection Officer to ensure the business remains fully GDPR compliant by management of policy and data protection activity
• Assume overall accountability for company records archiving working with stakeholders from across the business
• Actively contribute to business wide discussions and business strategy, particularly in terms of IT opportunities
• Foster and drive innovation throughout the business, through spending time with the clients and operational teams to fully understand what our clients really seek from our IT capabilities
• Part of the Business Continuity Team providing technology related solutions and advice to ensure appropriate disaster recovery, and business continuity, plans and in place and regularly tested.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• At least 5yrs+ work experience of leading an IT function in a business, ideally with experience in the manufacturing sector
• Excellent legislative knowledge and practical application experience of GDPR
• Strong experience working with mixed systems including legacy systems
• Strong understanding and experience of ITIL
• IT Security and risk management

• Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of IT and market innovations
• Analytical and ability to communicate compelling business cases supporting by evidence
• Demonstrable experience of the ability to successfully collaborate across the company, engaging with varying role levels to develop, articulate and implement solutions and changes
• Strong team management and development experience through objective setting and regular review
• Enthusiastic, self motivated and positive demonstrating initiative, resourcefulness and professionalism
• Embraces and drives change, whilst cognizant of business resource and risk parameters
