They produce a range of botanically brewed soft beverages and mixers that have a reputation for taste and quality and have made great progress in recent years, building a solid position in the UK premium drinks market. In addition to the UK, they have a rapidly growing international business, serving consumers in 75 countries worldwide.

There is now an exciting opportunity for an experienced consumer marketing manager to join their dynamic marketing team, based at their head office in Hexham, on a 12 month interim contract.

Job description

The primary purpose of this role is to grow market share, whilst building awareness and driving brand trial in the ‘In-Home’ channel, both in the UK and in focus international markets.

This will be achieved by:  

  • bring to life the marketing agenda with the sales team
  • develop strategies to win in the in-home channel
  • develop and execute marketing plans that drive awareness and trial in the in-home channel
  • work with the sales team to support the acquisition of new distribution in the In-home channel

​​​​​​​Role Responsibilities

  • Work with the in-home controller to develop strategies and annual plans to drive growth in the in-home channel
  • Act as the marketing lead with the in-home sales team, setting the marketing direction
  • Lead the creation of the annual marketing plan to win in the global in-home channel 
  • Proactively develop activity which generates awareness, though trial activation activity in global retail 
  • Support the sales team in their quest to acquire new distribution
  • Be the expert in market knowledge / shopper behaviour in the in-home channel
  • Execute the launch of NPD and new initiatives in retail / grocery channel
  • Set the direction for trade advertising (with the aim of building awareness) in the grocery / retail channel
  • Manage relationships with external agencies (as appropriate)

Essential skills

  • Comfortable in their leadership capability. Sets the agenda rather than follows one 
  • Strong presentation skills. Able to influence internally and externally
  • Ability to build a marketing plan (with a time and cost element)
  • Ability to work across functions and manage both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good understanding of delivering marketing programs which drive awareness and trial in the grocery / retail channel
  • Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, will add personality to an existing close-knit team
