We are looking for a lead support engineer who has experience providing technical support, managing junior technicians and small to medium sized projects for a managed service provider in Teesside.
You will be required to manage and guide the technical team in performing their duties, perform server level operations where required on operating systems including Microsoft Windows 8/10 and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019. Your other tasks include configuring technologies including but not limited to Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Exchange and VPN.
The role also requires undertaking and managing projects including server installs and migrations. Your support work will include troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues with workstations and servers. This will include work based at both the main place of work, at client locations, and remote support.
You will also have additional support, working alongside the Operations Director when managing larger projects and when monitoring technician’s tasks and schedules.
Communication skills are also important, as you will be required to work effectively and co-cooperatively with work colleagues. As the technical lead you will also be required to communicate precisely to colleagues, keeping them updated with progress being made on tasks. You will also be required to support and communicate with clients in a professional and friendly manner.
Your organisational skills are also equally important as you will be required to make sure including shared calendars, emails, and job monitoring systems are all managed and updated appropriately.
