The Company specialises in providing good value, quality holidays alongside excellent customer service and requires an Assistant People Director to lead and manage the strategic and operational People priorities. The organisation believes that having a highly motivated and engaged workforce will improve customer retention and ultimately drive business performance, the Assistant People Director is pivotal in ensuring the People agenda contributes to the business agenda, driving results.
The successful candidate with have proven experience of leading large teams resulting in delivery of several positive outcomes.
The Assistant People Director will be supported by three heads of function in HR, Recruitment & Training to maximise staff engagement through the employee lifecycle, and will together deliver an exciting new people vision for the next generation of Hays Travel.
A key deliverable for the successful candidate will be to bring together the three People functions into one team. The HR and Training teams will introduce a regionalised structure to support the increased branch numbers and work alongside a Head office team while the Recruitment team will grow to 12 colleagues. Underlining the commitment of people development and customer focus, the training team currently have 30-trained practitioners and will refresh the programmes for 2020 and beyond.
This role will suit an experienced HR professional with experience across all disciplines or someone already operating at Assistant Director Level with the ability to add value to a growing retail operation.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of retail and be qualified to MCIPD level or equivalent.
The post-holder must be able to effectively communicate across the full business at all seniority levels and demonstrate strong business acumen including the fundamentals of finance and profitability.
