This business is well positioned in these markets and highly profitable and will also benefit from significant investment in the coming 3-5 years in order to expand the production capability of both manufacturing sites.

The Role

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a bright and ambitious Engineer to join the Capital Projects Team, to be based at Team Valley.  This role will be responsible for both supporting the project Engineering team for implementation of capital investment, and supporting the Plant Operations Team in Engineering Improvements.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provides a project engineering service to the plant site including the manufacturing and maintenance organisations 
  • Plays a major role in the development of the site with regard to new equipment introduction, current equipment improvements and associated layout
  • Implements pragmatic solutions to ensure meeting customer requirements (internal and external) are always part of project success and in compliance with all appropriate legal and statutory codes of practice
  • Is a key supporter of the development of the facilities & engineering department
  • Provides day-to-day trouble-shooting and develops systems and programs for improving the trouble-shooting skills of others
  • Generates recommendations, cost estimates and justifications for plant capital budget 
  • Initiates, leads and implements process improvement efforts and projects, leads teams in analysing problems and developing best solutions 
  • Specifies equipment, obtains bids, purchases equipment and services, co-ordinates design and construction, to ensure a safe and effective start-up 
  • Oversees and manages contractors and projects
  • Implements projects at the lowest possible cost, in the minimum amount of time, with maximum benefits to the plant

The Person

The successful candidate will be keen to learn, take on new information and apply this independently. They will need to show good listening and influencing skills, with the necessary confidence to liaise internally and externally, forging strong, collaborative working relationships. 

The following candidates will be considered:

  • Degree qualified with around two years or more industry experience in a Project Engineer role
  • Candidates with HND in a relevant discipline, if they have Capex project experience or project management qualification. 
  • A Manufacturing Engineer with experience in delivering Capex projects and a desire to focus their career on Project Engineering.
