Nigel Wright are partnering with Valeo Confectionary to recruit a Head of Supply Chain. From retro classics to the latest flavours, Valeo Confectionary is home to many of the UK’s favourite sweets. Their famous brands include Sherbet Fountain, Dip Dab, Black Jack and Fruit Salad, Flumps, Refreshers, Princess Marshmallows, Taveners Proper Sweets, Lion hard gums and many, many more. With hundreds of years of heritage and five busy factories, they work tirelessly around the clock to deliver the very best confectionery with a combination of both traditional manufacturing methods and state of the art operations.
Valeo Confectionary have strong relationships with the UK’s largest retailers, providing both branded and own label products. They operate across a number of different retail channels including grocery, wholesalers and cash & carry, discounter, forecourts and the broad reaching independent channel.
They have a strong presence internationally and an even bigger desire to grow exponentially across the globe, and currently trade in key markets including Australia, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. As an international branded and retailer own brand business, Valeo Confectionary have plans to grow across many product sectors, markets and channels.
Reporting directly to the CEO the key purpose of the role is to take S&OP to the next level. Valeo have recently integrated the Tangerine and Big Bear businesses from both an operational and system viewpoint and the challenge now is to ensure these changes are embedded and sustainable.
A consistency of planning approach is key going forward as the planning system is already being used to set budgets and will be relied on more heavily in the future, this role will be responsible for driving data integrity and inspiring confidence amongst the key stakeholders.
This role will take responsibility for both Demand and Supply Planning across the 5 Valeo Confectionary as well as getting involved in Customer Service and Logistics with some of the key responsibilities being:
In order to be successful in this role a comprehensive knowledge of planning coupled with experience managing customer service and logistics departments within a fast paced, dynamic, multisite FMCG environment is essential. A track record managing change is actively sought, this skill set as well as experience integrating a new ERP system will be vital in the coming months.
In addition to the relevant experience you need to be a leader, someone who can manage a team in a challenging environment, delegating and managing performance rather than ‘doing’. The ability to influence key stakeholders both internally and externally will be key. The management team are highly committed and close knit and are looking for someone to join them in their journey, developing and implementing transformational change whilst delivering the annual buisness plan
