An exciting opportunity has arisen for a multi-lingual (Italian & English) Qualified Italian Country Accountant (Dottore Commercialista).

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Country Accountant will work within the Italian Accounting team and will deliver financial and compliance-based services to internal customers based in Italy and, as such, knowledge of local GAAP and taxation is essential. This role will sit in the Accounting Shared Services Centre (ASSC), based at Wynyard, Teesside. Applicants must be fluent in Italian and a business standard of English. Due to the autonomy of the role, the successful candidate will hold a degree in Accounting, be professionally qualified (Dottore Commercialista. Sezione “A” ODCEC) and have at least three years’ post qualification experience in either practice, tax or industry.

The main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Month-end closing activities for financial accounting.
  • Annual financial statement preparation for local GAAP.
  • Monthly/Annual tax compliance management.
  • Ensuring all processes meet Italian taxation requirements.
  • Participation in external audit activities.
  • Full control and autonomy; general ledger, analytical accounting, tax calculation, preparation of all annual tax returns (Unico SC, CNM, Irap, VAT), preparation and submission of the annual financial statements ITAGAAP starting from the USGAAP financial statements

As the ideal candidate you will have/be:

  • A degree in Accounting, you must be professionally qualified (Dottore Commercialista)
  • A qualified accountant (in the UK or Italy) with previous experience with both accounting and tax management of Italian companies with turnover exceeding €50 million
  • Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements, knowledge of SOX regulations and related controls and knowledge of SAP will be advantageous.
