Financial Controller

The organisation

TREAT-NMD is a registered charity Group working with a global network of stakeholders to help accelerate the development of treatments within the neuromuscular field, ensuring the most promising ones reach patients as quickly as possible. We help facilitate this via educational masterclasses aimed at healthcare professionals, providing anonymised data to support researchers and pharmaceutical companies and we provide guidance on the translation and development path of drug development programs, to name but a few of our key support services.

An opportunity is available for a Financial Controller to manage the finances of this dynamic organisation.   You will be an ambitious individual who will work with the management team to shape and support the financial operations and strategic vision of the company.

 

The role

The Financial Controller will work directly with the management team, leading the day-to-day financial activities including preparation of period end accounts, financial forecasts, project costing, VAT accounting, overseeing the payroll, cashflow management, managing external audit and preparation of the year end statutory accounts.

As a pa
rtner in a major European grant scheme with TREAT-NMD receiving funding from UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) you will prepare quarterly grant returns, financial forecasts, cashflow management, external audit and provide finance advice in project team meetings.

The Financial Controller will implement and maintain all financial controls and systems within the business, identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures.
 

The person

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience. In addition, the Financial Controller will be highly analytical and have excellent communication skills with a hands on approach, the ability to think outside the box and strive for continuous improvement.
