Specifications Technologist

The company

Nigel Wright are pleased to be working with an independent food manufacturing business as they look to recruit a Specifications Technologist. The site has been through a significant change programme over the last few years and is now well positioned to continue it's growth trajectory. At the start of it's journey to achieve world class manufacturing status, this really is an exciting time to join. 

The role

The newly appointed Specifications Technologist will be a key member of the site technical team, and will ideally have experience managing specs and customer portals for all the major retailers. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all external customer product specifications, as well as all internal product packaging specs. The role will also work closely with the NPD team, supporting with EPD and NPD, contributing to product trials, and managing and co-ordinating activities such as first production runs and ongoing sampling.

The candidate

This role would suit someone who is diligent, organised and enjoys working directly with the retailers.  We are looking for the following:

• Knowledge/experience of retailer specification portals with demonstrable experience of creating and maintaining product specifications
• Knowledge of customer standards including specification and artwork approval processes and labelling codes of practice
• Regulatory and legal awareness of food safety related legislation
• Experience in quality & food safety systems management
