Senior Business Development Professional - Telecommunications

With a strong reputation and a diverse client base, our client is at the forefront of helping organisations connect and communicate. They are now seeking a dynamic and consultative B2B sales professional to join their team as a Senior Business Development Manager. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for driving new business growth by identifying and securing high-value clients and nurturing and expanding a portfolio of established, high-worth accounts. You will engage with clients both in-person and via Teams to build lasting relationships and deliver tailored solutions. Role Profile:
• Drive new business growth by proactively prospecting through multiple channels, including CRM usage, door-to-door outreach, outbound calls, LinkedIn engagement, and networking events to generate high-quality leads and secure new client meetings.
• Manage and grow a small portfolio of top-tier accounts, conducting regular business reviews, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, mitigating risks, and deepening strategic relationships to maximise customer lifetime value.
• Deliver a consultative sales approach, tailoring telecom solutions to client needs, overcoming objections with confidence, and positioning the company as a trusted advisor in business communications.
• Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to close, including booking appointments, preparing proposals, handling documentation, and maintaining accurate CRM records to ensure pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy.
• Champion brand visibility and market presence by attending local events, building strategic partnerships, and leveraging community engagement to uncover new opportunities and enhance reputation.
• Utilise LinkedIn as a key business development tool, actively engaging with prospects, sharing insights, and expanding your professional network to support lead generation and personal brand growth.
Person Specification:
• Strong track record in B2B sales, including generating new business opportunities and consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
• Proven experience in managing and growing B2B accounts, with the ability to identify white space opportunities and strategically expand client portfolios.
• Industry experience in telecoms, technology, or managed service providers (MSPs) is highly desirable, with a solid understanding of business communication solutions.
• Confident in booking and attending face-to-face client meetings, demonstrating initiative and ownership of the full sales cycle.
• Consultative sales expertise, with the ability to tailor solutions to client needs, build trust, and deliver long-term value.
• Personable and resilient, with a strong presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
