Quality Control Technician

The company

Nigel Wright are pleased to be working with a privately owned food manufacturing business based in Leicestershire. An international organisation, that is experiencing considerable growth - they are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join the team. The role

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards in food safety and quality? We’re looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join the team and help ensure our products consistently meet the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform QC testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
  • Maintain accurate records and report deviations.
  • Calibrate and verify lab and production equipment.
  • Manage certificates of analysis and coordinate external lab testing.
  • Identify and control non-conforming products.
  • Generate product certificates and verify formulation and labeling accuracy.
  • Conduct site audits and support corrective actions.
  • Monitor hygiene standards and cleaning effectiveness.
  • Train staff on quality systems and hygiene practices.
  • Investigate customer complaints and contamination issues.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Support production and product development teams.
  • Ensure clear communication and documentation across teams.

The candidate

We are looking for either a recent graduate from a relevant subject area (Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition etc), or

  • Experience in a QA/QC role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and quality systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
Please note this role involves a 3 shift pattern (including nights), working Monday - Friday.
