The Company

Nigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement team are currently working with a wholesaler in their search for a Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring, category focussed Buyer to drive the success of the product range.

The Role

This role plays a critical part in managing the inventory to ensure strong availability of products while minimising excess stock. You’ll analyse sales data to identify patterns, manage fluctuations typical of challenger brands, and maintain relationships with suppliers. You’ll need to be confident with numbers, self motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment where product trends evolve quickly.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory for 1200+ SKUs across 110 suppliers - Analyse sales data to spot trends, optimise
stockholding, and avoid overstocking
- Ensure high product availability while maintaining cash flow efficiency
- Collaborate with the sales team to anticipate demand fluctuations and plan stock accordingly
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and managing lead times
- Respond quickly to sales spikes, slow movers, and evolving market trends

The Person

Strong numerical and analytical skills with a knack for spotting patterns in sales data
Experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or inventory control
Ability to handle fluctuations in demand, typical of challenger brands
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficient in Excel and familiar with inventory management systems
