Interim Head of Procurement
The Organisation
Nigel Wright Group has been appointed to support a well established Public Sector organisation with the appointment of an interim Head of Procurement. The position has become available due to the impending departure of the incumbent. There is a 3-6 month interim requirement, until the permanent recruitment process is concluded.
The opportunity would suit an MCIPS qualified candidate with Head of/Management level experience from within the Public Sector, with a proven track record in managing a breadth of procurement activity to ideally include Capex, construction and/or engineering.
The interim Head of Procurement will need to be office-based in the Newcastle area min 3 days per week, client will also consider a reduced 4-day per week contract.
The Role
The interim Head of Procurement will manage and mentor a small team, expanding upon the current plan for the future Procurement Act to ensure that the Procurement Team/wider stakeholders are fully prepared. They will act as a central point of guidance, knowledge and expertise to key internal stakeholders and will oversee and manage a broad variety of Procurement activity – from low level to £multi-million procurements.
