An exciting growing business based in South Leeds who is looking for A Head of Engineering.
The Role
The Head of Engineering is a member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive. The role is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of Engineering, Technology and Design and works especially closely with the Head of Business Development and Head of Manufacturing. Working in collaboration with the Senior Management Team, the Head of Engineering and Technology will help shape and deliver ambitious growth and improvement plans through increased employee and team engagement, and leads the drive for positions of technology leadership in the company’s chosen markets.
The role is to build, develop and lead a highly effective and capable Engineering team, supporting the future development and growth of both the business and the team. Be the company’s Design Authority and key interface for customers on all aspects of Engineering, Technology and Design. Own the Engineering Design process from Concept Design, through Preliminary and Production Design, concentrating on customer satisfaction. Realising technological differentiation and competitive advantage. Define and develop the company’s Engineering Technology strategy, ensuring that the company is at the forefront of technologies and innovation that delivers sustainable growth. Develop the company’s technical innovation process; identifying and implementing new ways of working with customers to enhance the company’s reputation and ensure USP. Develop the company’s systems Engineering capability as required by core customers and market sectors. Develop engineered solutions by working as the technical expert in each opportunity across Aerospace, Defence, Space, Life Sciences and other product markets, for existing and new customers, and across all products operating in harsh environments.
The person
Experience of working in senior management roles, leading and managing high performing technical teams in challenging environments.
Degree, HNC/HND in Engineering preferred.
A track record of developing innovative and effective technical solutions to challenging requirements and problems.
Managing with conviction.
The ability to think strategically and creatively
Strong action orientated drive to deliver results.
Data driven with the ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently.
Willingness to challenge ‘the norm’ and develop new ways of working.
