Financial Controller

The Opportunity:

Our client, a leading and award-winning global manufacturing business based in Teesside, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key strategic role in the Senior Leadership Team, reporting in to the Finance Director and with responsibility for a team of 6. A person with strong leadership and communication skills and a manufacturing background will do well in this role.

Main duties/responsibilities:

Lead the finance team to provide accurate and timely information, enhancing value and supporting strategic decisions.
Ensure timely completion of local and group reports, converting to IFRS when necessary.
Collaborate closely with Parent Company management and finance teams.
Perform monthly reviews of P&L, balance sheets, and ledgers to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Oversee the annual financial audit process, including the preparation of statutory accounts.
Develop annual budgets.
Supervise all internal audit controls and compliance.
Uphold financial policies and departmental procedures.
Act as a deputy for the Finance Director when needed.

You will be/have:

Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years PQE with manufacturing industry experience
Highly effective communicator
Understanding of Standard costing calculations and methodology
Previous demonstrable experience in a similar Management role
Highly experienced with MS Office
Experience with BI tools
Knowledge of SOX
