The Opportunity

Job Title: Credit Control Manager
Location: Blackburn (BB1)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE) + Bonus Incentive
Job Type: Full-Time | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Control Manager to join a well-established and fast-growing business based in the Blackburn area.

This is a key leadership role within the finance operations function, focused on driving cash collection performance, minimising credit risk, and building robust, scalable credit control processes. Working in a collaborative and energetic environment, you’ll help shape and lead a high-performing team, partnering across Finance, Commercial and IT departments to deliver real business impact

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the credit control team in the effective management of B2B customer accounts.

  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing aligned to contracts and service agreements.

  • Oversee credit risk, set appropriate credit limits, and manage adherence to internal credit policies.

  • Resolve escalations and customer queries professionally and efficiently.

  • Deliver clear, regular reporting on aged debt, cash flow and credit risks to senior leadership.

  • Identify and implement process improvements, with a focus on automation and efficiency.

  • Support the optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) as part of wider finance transformation.

  • Define and track KPIs related to collections, data integrity, and team performance.

  • Champion best practice in credit assessment and customer onboarding.

  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a motivated and engaged team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in a senior credit control role, ideally within a retail, wholesale, or multi-site business.

  • A strong leader with a track record of managing, mentoring, and developing finance teams.

  • Excellent understanding of B2B credit risk, invoicing, and collections best practice.

  • Confident communicator with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly desirable.

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
