Buyer 6 month fixed term contract

The Company

Nigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement Team is delighted to be working growing manufacturer who are looking to appoint a Buyer upon an initial 6 month fixed term contract.
 

The Role

Working within a supportive and collaborative team environment, key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all Purchasing activity
  • Running MRP to understand raw material requirements, manipulating and interpreting data
  • Order placement, expediting
  • Contract-/ tender management and review
  • New sourcing/market research 
  • Supplier negotiations/performance management
  • Process Mapping - opportunity to review and challenge status quo
  • Mix of Direct/Indirect Purchasing - opportunity to add value by centralising Indirect Purchasing

About You

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Previous purchasing experience from within FMCG or Manufacturing preferable
  • Energetic, diligent and ambitious to develop and progress, focused upon improvement
  • Able to commit and deliver in an ever changing, fast-paced environment – flexible and agile 
  • Advanced excel skills and excellent analytical ability essential
  • Knowledge of MRP beneficial
  • Strong supplier relationship management skills
  • Commercially astute, confident communicator and negotiator
  • Assertive, problem solver
  • Change management skills beneficial
