The business is on growth trajectory, aiming to expand from 500 to 750 clients over the next 12 months. They are looking for a dynamic individual to support this ambitious growth plan and add value to the business.
Role
As an Accounts Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in driving the business forward. You will be responsible for leading a team of ambitious accountants, managing client communications, and overseeing quarterly VAT returns. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your career within a thriving practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of 5 accountants.
- Conduct monthly performance evaluations.
- Track workload, ensure SLAs are met, and deliver KPIs.
- Set and achieve individual team targets.
- Manage internal escalations, ensuring effective resolution of queries.
- Organise and provide relevant training for the team.
- Conduct regular team meetings and review processes.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end contractor accounting process, from invoicing to payment reconciliation.
- Monitor and analyse financial data, offering insights and recommendations to the Head of Contractor Accounting.
- Implement and maintain best practices in financial reporting and analysis.
- Oversee the payroll process.
- Deliver exceptional client service, including tax-saving advice.
- Register the company for all relevant taxes.
- Prepare quarterly management accounts from client information.
- Prepare statutory year-end accounts and company year ends.
- Submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Prepare PAYE/NI returns.
- Handle corporation tax computation, payment, and CT600 filings.
Person
About You:
- Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Previous experience in a fast-paced finance environment.
- Experience in managing a team.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
