We are delighted to partner with a fast-growing accountancy business based in Stockport to recruit an Accounts Team Leader. This dynamic role is perfect for an individual eager to contribute to a rapidly expanding finance team and make a significant impact.
 

The business is on growth trajectory, aiming to expand from 500 to 750 clients over the next 12 months. They are looking for a dynamic individual to support this ambitious growth plan and add value to the business.

 

Role

As an Accounts Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in driving the business forward. You will be responsible for leading a team of ambitious accountants, managing client communications, and overseeing quarterly VAT returns. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your career within a thriving practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of 5 accountants.
  • Conduct monthly performance evaluations.
  • Track workload, ensure SLAs are met, and deliver KPIs.
  • Set and achieve individual team targets.
  • Manage internal escalations, ensuring effective resolution of queries.
  • Organise and provide relevant training for the team.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and review processes.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end contractor accounting process, from invoicing to payment reconciliation.
  • Monitor and analyse financial data, offering insights and recommendations to the Head of Contractor Accounting.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Oversee the payroll process.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, including tax-saving advice.
  • Register the company for all relevant taxes.
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts from client information.
  • Prepare statutory year-end accounts and company year ends.
  • Submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Prepare PAYE/NI returns.
  • Handle corporation tax computation, payment, and CT600 filings.

Person

About You:

  • Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced finance environment.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
