Michael Dawson

Michael is responsible for the recruitment of IT staff for clients based in the Teesside, Yorkshire and South of Tyne region with a salary level of up to £35,000pa.

Typical assignments cover roles within IT Support, Business & Systems Analysis, Project Management, IT Management across both the public and private sector. Michael works on both permanent and contract recruitment.

Michael graduated from Liverpool University in 2011 with a BSc (Hons) Pharmacology degree and has over three years’ sales experience and three years of experience in Engineering Information Management.

After graduating he worked for durhamlane as a Sales Executive for 18 months. Michael then moved into engineering information management, working for a North East IM specialist as a Field Data Collector specialising in Water and Utilities. In November 2013 he moved into an internal Data Assembler role then on to managing a team in August 2014. After gaining a wider understanding of the business, Michael moved back into a sales role as a Business Development Executive. Recently this involved setting up channel partners in the Middle East, specifically the UAE and taking new mobile software to market. Michael then joined Nigel Wright in September 2016 working with North East based clients.

  • I engaged Michael Dawson to fill a critical role at Falck Safety Services. As part of a broader strategy to drive optimisation and facilitate a uniform IT landscape, I needed a Global Project Manager to reduce systems and complexity across the business. It was essential that we hired someone not only with the right competencies but also the right experience of managing global IT projects. Our Teesside location often makes it challenging in attracting senior talent, but Michael exceeded our expectations, shortlisting three candidates all which we could have hired. Michael was professional throughout and happy to work around my busy schedule to update me on how the assignment was progressing. His ambitious time frame of two weeks to shortlist was met, and he also provided detailed reports outlining his assessment of each candidate, their expectations and how they would fit into the team. His feedback informed the interview process and meant I was confident in selecting a candidate after the first round of interviews. I’ve since used Michael to recruit a First Line Support Technician. Again, the service was fast and efficient, with a high volume of good quality individuals presented for the role. Candidates were impressed with Michael’s ability to put them at ease and relate to them on a professional and personal level. His capacity to advise and guide me throughout both processes was over and above what I expect from a recruitment consultant.
