How did you first learn about Nigel Wright?
My journey with Nigel Wright started in 2018 when I registered as a candidate due to a change in circumstances in my job. Prior to joining Nigel Wright, I worked as an Office Manager for one of the North East’s leading Maritime Specialists. My role was very varied, and I was heavily involved in accounting, recruitment, HR and the operational side of the business.
After registering with Nigel Wright and meeting with one of their HR recruitment specialists, she talked to me about career opportunities at Nigel Wright as a recruitment consultant and I was immediately keen to learn more.
Why did you join?
I was already impressed with the service I had received as a candidate in comparison to other agencies I had talked to throughout my job search, and I began to delve further into finding out more about them as an employer. After meeting several Nigel Wright employees during my interview process, it was apparent that they were passionate about their values and people. They demonstrated a collaborative and inclusive culture and that was a massive attraction for me. They challenged me in ways that other potential employers had not by addressing what was really important to me in both work and my personal life, and how that might fit with a career in recruitment.
What do you enjoy most about working at Nigel Wright?
I love being part of the HR specialism and learning from the wealth of knowledge my colleagues have. The culture is fun, competitive, hardworking and collaborative. The support and development that I have received since joining Nigel Wright has been second to none. I have an excellent work/life balance and it’s very rewarding to know that you are helping businesses advance and accelerating careers.
How has your prior experience benefited your recruitment role?
My role with Nigel Wright requires good organisation, planning and prioritising and sometimes having honest but difficult conversations. I believe I have been able to utilise the experience I had before joining Nigel Wright and build further on it. It has enabled me to develop excellent professional relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of seniority.
