The role:

As Category Manager you will deliver insight-based shopper innovations as well as fundamental category initiatives together with priority customers on key needs, creating long-term business relationships and ensuring category growth. Actively support and empower the organization to define commercial purpose and objectives, in addition to deploy relevant learning to the organization to drive business with all other customers forward.

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify relevant areas for category growth and translate key opportunities into a category growth strategy
  • Lead local insight agenda to ensure all commercial insights are transformed into a relevant overview, in order to uncover unmet category and shopper needs
  • Position J&J as the go-to company and thought leader in preferred categories by developing category growth stories for trade meetings together with Key Account - and Commercial Activation Managers
  • Add value to key customers and grow their categories beyond J&J brands, by applying objective category growth approach
  • Drive joint business planning and create best in class execution concepts in cooperation with KAM/CAM and customer's management teams
  • Prepare and present category execution at customer headquarter level and be able to hold meetings with key stakeholders with or without KAM representation
  • Plan and manage in-store trials projects and develop Activation Manuals for sales force to ensure strong in-store execution
  • Develop and update monthly sales- and market share reports
  • Thoroughly plan, manage and track allocated budget utilizing available financial tools.

Profile:

  • 3-5 years’ experience working with category management as Category Manager, Shopper Marketing Manager, KAM, or in similar role at a retailer
  • Need to have good experience and proven track record of successful category projects from start to finish
  • Experience from working in a matrix organization
  • Strong project management skills
  • Insights generation capabilities
  • Swedish language and very good English skills, both spoken and written
  • Solid analytical thinking capabilities
  • Customer focused and love working in a team
  • Well-structured, focused and used to setting clear priorities
  • Passion about category thinking and category principles
  • Curious about the consumer and shopper insights.
