Helix Sweden are on a growth journey and are now looking for a Commercial Manager Sweden to join the dynamic team in Stockholm and lead and drive Helix’ commercial operations in the Swedish market. 

The Commercial Manager will have full P&L responsibility, focusing on building revenue and profit in Sweden while meeting set volume goals. This role requires a strategic mindset, adaptability, and strong stakeholder engagement skills to drive commercial success in the FMCG sector. You will oversee a team of two Key Account Managers and a sales team managed through a third-party supplier, ensuring seamless execution of commercial objectives.

This role will be based at Helix Sweden’s office in an attractive location in central Stockholm and will report into the Commercial Director, based in London.
 

Key areas of responsibility

  • Strategy Planning and Business Development:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies, distribution plans, and marketing cycle plans in collaboration with internal resources in Europe and the US.
    • Ensure that the product portfolio is positioned correctly towards retail trade partners and consumers (B2C and B2B).
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of two Key Account Managers and a sales team administered through a third-party supplier.
    • Provide guidance, support, and development opportunities to team members to enhance their performance and career growth.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
    • Engage with internal stakeholders to align commercial strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Financial Management:
    • Take full P&L responsibility for the Swedish market.
    • Monitor financial performance, analyze key financial metrics, and implement strategies to drive revenue and profit growth.
    • Ensure that financial targets are met while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Market Analysis and Adaptability:
    • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
    • Adapt plans and activities based on real-time learnings and market feedback.
    • Utilize analytical skills to interpret data and convert it into tangible business recommendations.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management:
    • Lead contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure favorable terms.
    • Maintain and enhance profitability and minimize risk by applying best commercial practices.
    • Address client concerns and feedback proactively to drive long-term success.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel several times a month as required to meet with clients, partners, and team members.

Who we are looking for

Ideal experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a commercial management role within the FMCG sector for a major organization.
  • Experience with structuring and negotiating business agreements. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing P&L responsibilities and driving revenue and profit growth.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, including remote and third-party managed teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies, conducting market analysis, and managing stakeholder relationships.

  • Negotiation Skills: Proficient in leading contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address client concerns and feedback proactively.
  • Market Awareness: Keen understanding of market trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency with creating presentations and sharing thoughts and ideas in a clear and articulate manner.
