About the company:

On behalf of our client Pågen, we are looking for a Country Manager/MD to drive the development of the company’s business in Finland together with a dedicated team. We are looking for an experienced and commercially-savy Country Manager who is motivated to take on a new role with a company with strong future growth vision!

This role will give you the opportunity to influence and drive the growth and success of the Finnish business. You will be responsible for setting as well as executing the country strategy and own the country PnL. You will be a part of an international commercial management team . You will ongoing work closely with key stakeholders within i.e. Finance, Marketing, Sales, Category, Supply Chain, HR and IT. You will have the opportunity to make an impact on the Finnish team’s development as well as the ways of working. You will also be involved in different cross-functional projects. 

About the role:

As Country Manager/MD for Finland you will be responsible for Pågen’s overall business growth in Finland and to identify, recommend and define opportunities for business development in the market. You will lead and develop the team against set annual goals and long term agreed category portfolio and market strategies.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Setting up a new 5 year strategic plan for the Finnish business
  • Evaluate the current organizational structure and ensure that you have the right set up to support the team and achieve the future set goals in the coming years
  • Focusing on profitable as well as sustainable growth for the Finnish market
  • Be a part of developing and implementing the future portfolio strategy for the Finnish market
  • Lead the Finnish team
  • Represent the business externally, building strategic relationships across the Finnish market
  • Accelerate the Customer, Principal as well as Distribution Management areas together with the relevant stakeholders
  • Capitalize on synergies within Category Management and increase the focus on Marketing & Trade marketing for the Finnish customers!

Your profile:

We see that you have the relevant competencies from many successful years of strategic Key Account Management as well as development. It’s important that you have held a leading role including team responsibility from a consumer sales environment. You have good understanding of how FMCG businesses operate in Finland, and you can make informed decisions and recommendations that are aligned with strategy and organizational targets. 

To be successful in your role we believe that you have the following :

 
  • Min 10 years of FMCG experience from the Finnish Grocery Trade market, min 5 years in a management position.
  • A business-oriented approach and experience of successfully driving strategic key account development projects together with your team
  • Excellent interpersonal as well as leadership skills
  • hands-on, no nonsense and can-do attitude and approach
  • Strong educational background, such as an M.Sc. in Economics or other relevant academic degree
  • Fluent in English and Finnish (Swedish skills is a merit)
We also see that you are motivated by challenges and thirsty as well as have the courage to learn new things. You want to achieve results and win together with your team! And that you are constantly ready to see opportunities around you and work together with your team and your customers to created “win-win” situations together!

It’s a plus if you have worked for an international FMCG company where you have gained a relevant experience/tool box for this position.
Travel is included in the role both nationally as well as international at times.
