About the company and the role::

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Country Manager/Managing Director to lead and drive the growth of our business in Norway. This role also includes responsibility for overseeing our markets in some other European countries. We are looking for an experienced and commercially-savvy Country Manager who is motivated to take on a new role with a company with strong future growth vision!

This role will give you the opportunity to influence and drive the growth and success of the Norwegian market, alongside two additional key European markets. You will be responsible for setting as well as executing the countries strategies and own the countries PnL. You will be a part of an international commercial management team group. You will work closely with key stakeholders across Finance, Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Supply Chain, HR, and IT, and actively participate in various cross-functional projects.

As Country Manager/MD for Norway you will be responsible for the company´s overall business growth in Norway + 2 other markets and to identify, recommend and define opportunities for business development in the market. You will be able to participate in shaping both processes and the role. You will work against set annual goals and long term agreed category portfolio and market strategies. You are located in our office in Oslo (NO) or Malmø (SE). 

Your responsibilities and profile:

•    Setting up a new 5 year strategic plan for the Norwegian market, as well as the other markets under your responsibility  
•    Focusing on profitable as well as sustainable growth for the Norwegian, as well as the other markets under your responsibility  
•    Be a part of developing and implementing the future portfolio strategy for the Norwegian market, as well as the other markets under your responsibility 
•    Represent the business externally, building strategic relationships across the Norwegian market, as well as the other markets under your responsibility  
•    Accelerate the Customer, Principal as well as Distribution Management areas together with the relevant stakeholders
•    Capitalize on synergies within Category Management and increase the focus on Marketing & Trade marketing for the Norwegian customers!
•    Results will be achieved with and through our Distributor partner in respective market. 

We see that you have the relevant competencies from many successful years of strategic Key Account Management, Business development as well as Sales leader or country manager experience.  You have good understanding of how FMCG businesses operate in Norway and Europe, and you can make informed decisions and recommendations that are aligned with strategy and organizational targets. 

 

To be successful in your role we believe that you have the following:

•    Min 6-8 years of FMCG experience from the Norwegian Grocery Trade market.
•    a business and data-oriented approach and experience of successfully driving strategic key account development projects 
•    excellent interpersonal as well as leadership skills 
•    a hands-on, no nonsense and can-do attitude and approach
•    strong educational background, such as an M.Sc. in Economics or other relevant academic degree
•    fluently in English and Norwegian 

We also see that you are motivated by challenges and thirsty as well as have the courage to learn new things. You want to achieve results and win together with your extended team! And that you are constantly ready to see opportunities around you and work together with your team and your customers to created “win-win” situations together!
It’s a plus if you have worked for an international FMCG company where you have gained a relevant experience/tool box for this position. 

Travel is included in the role both nationally as well as international at times.
