The challenge

As the Field Sales Representative for BENELUX based in Benelux, you will act as the company’s representative in several important markets, and you will strengthen our network of distributor partners, retailers, and e-commerce players. Ideal candidates have expertise in distributor relationships of pet food and care products and in setting-up successful collaborations with pet specialty retail. You are eager to deliver targets and have a ‘hunting’ sales mentality.
You know how to take customer and consumer feedback, align it with the company strategy and turn it into a successful route-to-market. You know how to leverage the key drivers of brick and mortar and e-commerce success and will operate successfully with external partners. You have a strong commercial focus and outstanding communication, and analytical skills. Experience in similar role in pet related categories is a must. Having worked for pet specialty a-brands is a strong plus. 


The responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the execution to market of the agreements with  distributors and key accounts in Pet Specialty chains across the BENELUX area. Support and enhance the distributor partnerships and direction across BENELUX creating profitable growth in the market. 
  • Partner with the Marketing team on any needed deliverables (sample kits, signage, sell sheets, best-sellers lists, planograms).
  • Partner with the Customer Service team to resolve any PO or credit issues.
  • Understand and suggest ISOs, and SKU rationalizations, manage budgets as well as targets with our local customers and translate the targets in an action plan for sustainable success.
  • Work with the Senior Business Development Manager on Analysing sales reports, to set annual goals and expectations with each distributor partner and Key Accounts. 
  • Track status of innovation set-up and promotions. 
  • Set-up new SKUs with distribution and Key accounts– providing spec sheets, imagery, and timeline of availability
  • Execute the annual route-to-market strategy for our brands in brick and mortar pet specialty stores as on e-commerce platforms. 
  • Plan, execute and attend distributor/ Key Account trainings and all shows – including booth set-up and show deals.
  • Travel roughly 50-60%. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Business Development Manager. 

The candidate

  • Minimum master’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent by experience.
  • 3+ years in similar rode experience in the pet field. 
  • You have a proven track record in building brands in these categories together with distributors and key accounts.

  • Experienced or motivated to work in an international and diverse environment.
  • Independent work ethic. 
  • Speak & write Dutch, and English at a business fluent level. French will be a strong plus.
