About the position

The Senior Manager International Product Marketing owns the international business category P&L for the Homecare Cleaning category. In addition, this role will also be responsible for potential adjacencies and adding new categories to the portfolio. The responsibility consists of 3 major elements: definition & creation of an international product roadmap (translate local market/consumer needs into international specification requirements), ownership and creation of the 4P marketing plan, and P&L ownership for the category & defining effective go-to-market strategies for hero launches in key priority markets. The function will need to work closely with the global product marketing team to translate in-depth market, consumer, and shopper insights, as well as competitive data into winning global product propositions, whether these products are developed or sourced. The function will drive the localization of the global SKUs with marketing, compliance, and project management. Additionally, the function will need to define & support the execution of the marketing plans for hero launches, with support from the regional teams. This comes with business and P&L ownership of the category, meaning that KPls are related to market share, topline, and margin. As this is an important category with a key focus to grow, this position will have exposure to senior and executive management.

About the profile

  • Responsible for defining product requirements for hero launches for all markets in
  • Europe/UK, META, Oceania, and Asia. Needs to use desk research, market visits,
  • industry knowledge of distribution partners,market data, and consumer intelligence data to understand local requirements.
  • Drive the 3-year international product roadmap in alignment with the global marketing team and program management.
  • Manage the product lifecycle of the existing portfolio (workload and priority linked to product strategy and direction).• Join the global team for investigations in potential adjacencies and ensure to add new product categories to the portfolio, when relevant. Product development and localization of this new product category will also be part of the responsibilities.
  • Control building a database of markets and consumer intelligence data, either via desk research, market data agencies (GfK, IFR, NPD), or consumer research.
  • Participate in regular updates with the global product marketing team to understand roadmap development and ensure international requirements are taken into account. In case of specific product portfolio gaps, the function will conclude with the General Manager of the category and regional teams if and how to bridge the gap - either via specific development or sourcing.
  • Ensure global marketers have all required input to localize global products according to specific local market and regulatory requirements (derivatives process). Work with product marketing, regional team, distribution partners, and project management & compliance management to drive that process.
  • Provide regular updates to regional teams about product launch specifics and planning to ensure the sales team can forecast on time.
  • Own the completion of all relevant product-related information (specification sheets), international claims, training material, website content, and marketing activation tool kits.
  • Lead the 4P-marketing planning and support the regional teams in preparation for hero launch execution - defining the proposition, price positioning, distribution strategy, and marketing activation plan. The function should ensure the maximum amount of cross learning between the different markets.• Work with each regional team to develop ideas on how to grow in existing product/market combinations.
  • Besides product innovation, this function should drive marketing/commercial innovation to ensure to bring constantly new news into the market and help to drive profitable growth.
  • Support in driving continuous improvement efforts, specifically related to pre-/postlaunch analysis with a focus on ratings & review (ensure 4.5-star review for all new products).
  • Work with Product Marketing support team to achieve successful commercialization of product introductions.
  • Partner with the Market Intelligence function and have shared responsibility for the research plan to ensure Consumer Knowledge and Market Data Knowledge.
  • Work together with the different functions to identify opportunities and needs to drive business development and initiate new ideas. Develop a growth and expansion plan with market prioritization and clear locally relevant proposition solutions.

REQUIRED
  • Master's degree, preferably in business, communications or economics• Over 12 years of experience in International Product Marketing Management, or Consumer Marketing Management, preferably in appliances, personal care, or FMCG products
  • Experience in a global business environment is a must-have
  • Understanding of how to manage P&L
  • Proven track record in product marketing and marketing planning
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and preferably another language
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Experience with ERP programs would be a plus.
