Commercial Director

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and strategic Commercial Director to lead the commercial growth of a packaging company based in the Netherlands. You will be responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue, profitability, and market share, while building strong relationships with clients and partners. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the packaging industry or related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with the company’s goals to achieve sustainable growth.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new business opportunities and industry trends.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, product development, and customer service teams to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners to secure profitable agreements.
• Manage commercial budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to meet company targets.
• Monitor commercial KPIs and provide regular reports and insights to the CEO.
• Identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Represent the company in negotiations and key business discussions.
• Mentor and develop the commercial team to foster a high-performance culture.

• Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role, ideally within packaging, or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing commercial strategies that deliver growth.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in market research and financial management.
• Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage but not mandatory.
