Our Client


On behalf of a rapidly growing company for high-quality and fashionable workwear and promotional clothing, we are looking for a Sales Manager DACH.

Responsibilities


1.    Team management:

  • line manage the daily operation of the sales team
  • manage the pricing strategy of the team to deliver agreed profitability within targeted client sectors
  • monitor sales activity to ensure it is of the correct sales quantity, quality & direction, and take management action when adverse variances to budget arise
  • host sales team meetings at least every 3 months
  • hold a minimum of 10 1on1 meetings with each member of the sales team and 2 x annual appraisals in line with company policy
  • set and monitor objectives for each member of the sales team and create an activity reporting
  • management of team within established policy under HR direction of the brand

2.    Target achievement (management of resources to achieve annual sales and profitability targets)
  • delivery of sales targets for the brand in line with annual budgets
  • develop a detailed and recorded sales pipeline which identifies sufficient new sales opportunities to meet annual targets
  • supply weekly forecast figures for reports
  • provide revised outlook figures on achievable sales figures as requested
  • delivery of monthly engagement and forecasting alongside S1Op requirements

3.    Strategic activities
  • production of monthly sales forecast in accordance of Sales & Operations Planning requirements for the brand
  • attendance and input at new product development & product life-cycle management to coordinate range changes and discontinuations plans
  • host regular marketing meetings with Marketing Manager to design and deliver sales activity elements to campaigns to promote market opportunities and specific products and services
  • meet senior contacts with key accounts to diversify and strengthen our business relationships
  • operate traceable, documented systems and controls on quotes and orders, be a point of checks and balance to ensure adherence to sales policies, pricing & discounts and ensure that any client’s terms and conditions of trading are acceptable to VLI
  • engagement with finance team to reduce debtors days and improve intercompany financial relationships
  • management of contractual services and operational support to improve service delivery and avoid breach of trading agreements

4.    Reporting requirements
  • weekly SOFT report to be compiled from team and submitted to Chief Sales Officer
  • weekly sales forecast figures to nominated individual
  • monthly flash report by 2nd day of the month
  • monthly sales report by 10th day of each month
  • monthly Sales & Operations Planning approval for forecasted sales
  • annual submission of forecasted budget
  • quarterly review of submitted sales forecast with amended variances

Development opportunities

 

  • Identify areas for professional development and continuous improvement of skills
  • Participate in training courses and workshops to keep abreast of the latest trends and techniques in sales
  • New development opportunities will emerge when growing and expanding the DACH area

A successful Middle Manager or Team Leader with B2B experience who will display all or some of the following traits:
