Role Overview

Our client is an internationally successful FMCG company, family owned with a strong heritage and history.
More than a thousand employees produce high-calibre quality products in several modern production facilities.
Based south of Athens in Greece, the company is open and supportive for high potential candidates from all over Europe, who are open for Relocation
to take on the responsibility for all Operations topics.

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director (gn) with expertise in high-speed consumer goods packaging to lead our production operations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in optimizing efficiency, driving operational excellence and implementing innovative solutions.
With strong analytical and leadership skills, this role is key to improving production performance and achieving strategic goals.

Our production facilities are designed to handle high-volume output, with a focus on quality and scale. The successful candidate will address specific challenges, including improving efficiency in post-production processes and implementing a culture of continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze production reports, identify reasons for drop/lack of efficiency in second part of production, especially post the 2019 track and trace adjustments (drop from 70 to 62%)

  • Optimize processes, implement ‘Continual Improvement Process’
  • Implement Operational excellence initiatives, coach the employees
  • Moderate change in production management, intra logistics, production planning,
  • Technical management, question the status quo in material management and shopfloor design
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all production activities, from raw material preparation to final product output with focus on the latter.
  • Manage and support two production directors and the broader production team.

Efficiency Improvements
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, particularly in secondary production processes

Process Optimization
  • Implement a Continuous Improvement Process to streamline operations and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Redesign production planning, material management, and shopfloor layouts to enhance productivity.

Change Management
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives, challenging existing processes and fostering innovation.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to employees, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Strategic Oversight
  • Align production output with market demand and business objectives.
  • Integrate advanced manufacturing technologies and improve intralogistics systems

Profile

Experience:

  • At least 10–15 years in operations or production leadership roles in high-speed consumer goods packaging or a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated success in improving production efficiency and scaling operations.

Education:
  • University degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced qualifications are an advantage.

Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems and data-driven decision-making.

Leadership Skills:
  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex operations.
