German consumer industry salaries on the rise

Nigel Wright's 2015 German Consumer Sector Salary Update offers the latest data on salaries across a number of disciplines in the Consumer Industry in Germany.

Salaries in Germany increased on average by 4.2% last year, according to the survey. Record low interest rates, a strong labour market and high levels of consumption have certainly bolstered a recovering German economy over the last 12 months.

Consumers’ incentive to save is virtually non-existent, which has enabled firms operating in the domestic market to make significant gains, while German companies have been able to become more competitive outside of the EU. Recruitment is also very much back on the agenda and it’s therefore no surprise that increased competition for talent has pushed salaries up.

Executive salaries have seen the largest increase at 7.1%, on average, compared to last year. At management level, the average percentage salary increase was 3.3%, across the Marketing, Sales Operations, and Finance and HR functions included in our annual survey.
