Breakfast Briefing: Impact of GDPR on the IT sector

Nigel Wright Recruitment will be hosting a breakfast briefing focusing on the impact of GDPR on the IT sector, which will be held on Wednesday 24th May at our Newcastle office.

Coffee or tea and choice a of bacon/sausage sandwiches or continental pastries will be served from 8am.

Speakers:

Jill Dovey – Associate Solicitor, Muckle LLP
Jill Dovey is the commercial IT expert at law firm Muckle LLP. Jill is a regular speaker on cybersecurity and GDPR and has worked in the IT sector for over a decade, with many years at a FTSE 100 software house. Newcastle-based Jill is also hugely passionate about the local digital community and is a proud supporter of #ThisIsMINE and Newcastle Start Up Week. 

Jill will be speaking about the implications of GDPR on the IT sector including data mapping, privacy by design and managing international data transfers.

 

Lydia Benatia, Group Data Protection Manager for Close Brothers Group Plc
Lydia Benatia joined Close Brothers in June 2015 as a Data Protection Officer and was appointed to advise and support Close Brothers on Data Protection and Privacy legislation and regulations. Her role includes working closely with stakeholders to advise on practical solutions for implementing Data Protection regulations.

Prior to joining Close Brothers, Lydia attended university in Los Angeles and returned to the UK to attend law school. She later joined Dixons Carphone as a Compliance Executive where she specialised in FCA and Data Protection compliance for Carphone Warehouse, Dixons, PC World and Curry’s.

Lydia will be speaking about the Close Brothers Journey to GDPR Compliance.  She will cover the steps they had to take in preparation for Group wide compliance to the upcoming GDPR and what else is left to do. Lydia will share the highs and lows of preparing their company for compliance.
